UP Law Aptitude Exam Schedule and Application 2025: Date and Place
The UP College of Law has made an announcement regarding the 2025 Law Aptitude Examination. Here are some important details to remember:
- UP Law’s website is now open for registration. (Read about the application process and documentary requirements.)
- The actual LAE will be conducted on March 30, 2025 (Sunday).
- Deadline for online LAE applications is on February 28, 2025 (Friday).
- Deadline for grades and other document submissions is on March 21, 2025 (Friday).
- Technical Assessment is on March 9, 2025.
UP Law Aptitude Exam Schedule and Application: Documentary Requirements
Before you start with your LAE Prep, make sure that you are eligible to apply. To take the test, an applicant must have graduated or must be about to graduate from a 4-year bachelor’s degree in the arts or science from a college or university that is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education. The major or field of concentration must be in any of the following:
- Political Science
- Philosophy
- English
- Economics
- History
A degree in a field other than those mentioned above must meet the following requirements:
- English – 12 units
- History or Economics – 9 units
- Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology – 9 units
- Rizal course – 3 units
An applicant must register online and submit the following documents:
- proof of graduation or senior standing
- for holders of a bachelors’ degree:
- official transcript of records
- general weighted average from the school registrar
- for candidates for graduation of a bachelor’s degree
- certification issued by the school registrar stating that the student is a candidate for graduation for the current school
- latest transcript of records
- general weighted average from the school registrar
- course curriculum
- additional requirement in case the LAE registration website does not recognize the applicant’s school grading system
- official transcript of records containing the grading system used by the school, or
- certificate of grading system used in the official transcript of records
- for applicants previously or currently enrolled in another law school (must not have obtained a failing grade while in law school)
- certified true copy of grades from law school
- certificate of good standing (must indicate that the applicant is not disqualified to re-enroll next school year)
- official transcript of records
- general weighted average from the school registrar (if not included in the official transcript of records)
- for holders of a bachelors’ degree:
- 2″ x 2″ ID picture with white background (.jpg, .jpeg, or .png format)
- proof of payment of nonrefundable testing fee (wait for the order of payment before paying the testing fee)
- Landbank validated deposit slip with applicant’s name, or
- online bank transfer
- for applicants who seek exemption from payment of the testing fee
- latest original or duly certified income tax return or BIR certificate of exemption from filing income tax
- other requirements that may be imposed by the Admissions Committee

UP Law Aptitude Exam Schedule and Application: Grounds for Disqualification
The following are listed by the UP College of Law as grounds for the disqualification of an applicant:
(a) Concealment, misinterpretation or falsification of any material fact throughout the application process;
(b) Intentional submission of wrong documents or non-submission of the required documents;
(c) Serious misconduct resulting in disciplinary action (suspension/expulsion and at anytime of the proceeding) in any of the schools attended;
(d) Disqualification for academic reasons in this or in another law school, including probation status;
(e) Conviction of an offense involving moral turpitude.
